"Trust in the Lord.." Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord-- a thing that most of us having hard time to do especially when we are in tough times in our lives. But hat's off to them who really trust in the Lord!

The Lord through the Holy Spirit is continue speaking to me, "trust me alone". These days, i keep running to and fro to find comfort zone, but the Lord keeps on saying, "trust in me".

Have a problem? sickness? need counsel? do you feel abandoned? alone?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding

PROVERBS 3:5
Do not lean on your own understanding. Why? Because you can only see partial things but the Lord sees the whole thing in your life! He knows your pain, He knows your sufferings, He knows all about you! Not believing?
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered..."
Luke 12:7
The Lord knows even the number of EACH PERSON'S hair! Is it not amazing!!?

in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.

PROVERBS 5:6
The verse above said, "in all your ways submit to Him..." You know, whatever situation we are in, we must learn to submit! Submission means whether in your eyes this things are not reasonable you will just obey. This is submission. There are times that the Lord tells us to do something which is, not reasonable for us. Remember Abraham's story? On how he submitted to God? If we will put ourselves into Abraham's shoes, i guess that would be a very very hard decision for us to do. And frankly, some will refuse to do it in my opinion. But Abraham, he just submitted. He even didn't consult his wife Sarah about this, brought his child, Isaac to the mountain, tied him up to the altar and finally.....

Raised his hands to kill him. But the Lord  told him not to kill his son and provided a burnt offering in place of Isaac.

The Lord proved that Abraham really Love Him and trust him, for Abraham thought the Lord can raise Isaac again to life. Hebrews 11:19

The Lord will test and push us even until the edge of the cliff to see if we trust in Him.

"...and he will make your paths straight."
At last, when we trust in the Lord with all our heart, He will make our path straight! The road that you once thought to be rocky, impossible and hard to take, when we obey the Lord, He will make it straight.

Wow! What a faithful promise and guarantee! Even now, while i am writing this article, Word of God is being refresh in me and am too is being anointed!

Thank you Lord Jesus! Brethren, just keep going on! Just remember that there is an eye who sees you in love and knows all the things about you!

LOVE - THE GREAT COMMANDMENT

1 Corinthians 13
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

This morning we had taught about LOVE. Many Christians today are living their life without any difference from unbelievers. Most of them are just Church-goers, knowing not what is the main reason why we attend Church Services, Prayer Meetings and activities. I pray that through this article i can help you with your walk with Christ in Jesus name!

What is LOVE?

As you have read on the verses above, we can clearly see what God love is. From verses 4-8, it clearly explains about LOVE.

How important LOVE is?

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

One man, asked the Lord which is the great commandment. And the Lord just simply answer, LOVE! Love your God! Love your neighbor! These are the great commandment in the law. In Old Testament, we have 10 commandments;

  1. You shall have no other gods before me.
  2. You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
  3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God,
  4. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
If we will simplify these commandments we will have 2 commandments. The first to fourth commandments are the LOVE for God and the fifth to sixth commandments are LOVE for our NEIGHBORS. So we can clearly see that there are NO any DIFFERENCES from the old to new. Again in verse 41, the Lord said, On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. LAW are the books which consists of the law given through Moses, and PROPHETS are the books written by the Prophets. When i learnt about these things, i was shocked to know that from 39 books in the OT, the Lord just wants to tell us TO LOVE! Apostle John said;

1 John 2:7

Brethren,I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
1 John 4:16
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

So it means that the whole Holy Bible tells us to LOVE. Not shocking to you??

Why do we need to LOVE?
1 John 4:16
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
John 15:9-10
9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

John 14:24
24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

It is really important for us to abide in the LOVE of God because the verses above says that whoever abides in LOVE, abides in God. If we want to remain in the Lord, we must LOVE. BIG FAITH is not just we need to have, we need to be full of LOVE, for GOD is LOVE.

LOVE FOR GOD
Mark 12:28-30
28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving[d] that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”
29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment.

John 14:21
"He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

What is God's commandments? Let us start with "Love your God". Jesus said in the Book of Mark, that the first commandment is the Love for God. Book of John 14 says that he who obeys God's words are those who LOVE Him. If we Love the Lord, He promised that He will Love us back and will also manifest His self to us! Oh what a sweet and faithful promise! BUT we can never ever JUST SIMPLY say "I LOVE YOU LORD" TO PROVE OUR LOVE TO GOD. We need to put effort on it, with all strength! As what He says in John 14:15;

“If you love Me, keep My commandments."
23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

John 14:22-23 says that if we do not obey Jesus' words, it means we do not Love Him!

Brethren, if you truly LOVE the Lord Jesus, OBEY!OBEY! For this is the way we can proved our LOVE to Him, if we keep His commandments!

1 John 2:3-6
3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

LOVE FOR NEIGHBOR
Mark 12:31
31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Do you love yourself? Yes, Of course,so do i. If you love yourself yourself 100%, we must also love our neighbor 100%. For this is a command from God, to love our neighbor as ourselves.
1 John 4:20
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

One more thing we can prove our love for the Lord is to love our neighbor. We cannot see God, for He is Spirit, but we love Him. How much more we can easily love our neighbors, we can see them visibly.
Then how can we fulfill these great commandments = LOVE??
Galatians 5:15-22
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

If we do not love our neighbor, these are what we have....
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[b] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Fearful! For those who do not love, will never inherit the Kingdom of God! It means, those who do not obey!

But if we love our neighbor we have....

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

FRUIT?? OR FRUITS?? Right! Singular! but why Fruit instead of FRUITS? Because joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control are all under LOVE. If you love, these things follow.

Then how can we fulfill LOVE?
Be full of the Holy Spirit! For the fruit of the Spirit is love!!

We can be full of the Holy Spirit through Prayer and Word of God!

May we all be filled by Love from God.. For Him and for our Neighbor! Hallelujah!
